Salary: $62k - 74k per year + none
Reference:
Maintenance Mechanic | Blow Molding Equipment & Production Support(Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain blow molding production equipment and plant systems in a plastics manufacturing environment.)
- Location:
Elk Grove Village, IL - Shift: 3rdShift
11 PM – 7 aM
Pay: $27–$35/hr (based on experience)
Qualifications & Skills:
Minimum Requirements:
- 2–5 years of hands‑on maintenance experience in manufacturing environments
- Experience supporting blow molding, extrusion, or injection molding equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, schematics, and blueprints
- Basic electrical troubleshooting and repair skills
- Knowledge of plastics processing equipment and systems
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Preferred:
- Experience with PLC systems, robotics, or servo controls
- Working knowledge of plastics materials and blow molding processes
- Forklift experience
- Leadership experience or ability to support maintenance teams
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and move around machinery throughout the shift
- Ability to climb on equipment when performing repairs
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing environment with high noise levels
- Facility is non-climate controlled
- PPE required including hearing protection and safety glasses
Compensation & Benefits:

- Troubleshoot and repair blow molding production equipment and support machinery
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and emergency repairs
- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Identify potential equipment failures and resolve reliability issues
- Support equipment overhauls during planned shutdowns
- Maintain accurate maintenance documentation in computerized maintenance systems (CMMS)
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, and schematics
- Operate shop equipment including lathe, milling machine, band saw, drill press, welder, and multimeter
- Assist with maintaining spare parts inventory
- Work closely with Process Technicians and Production teams to resolve technical process issues
- Follow all plant safety policies and procedures
- Maintain clean and organized maintenance work areas
