Tree Top Staffing is recruiting an experienced CNC Machinist
- Large Part Horizontal Mill for a well-established precision manufacturing organization in Rockford, Illinois.

This is a senior-level machining opportunity for an experienced professional who can independently set up and operate large CNC horizontal boring and milling machines while producing large, close-tolerance components from provided programs, drawings, and specifications.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive large-part machining experience, advanced setup capabilities, a strong understanding of tooling, work holding and gaging, and the ability to identify machining risks before they affect part quality. This position is best suited for a machinist who can work independently, troubleshoot effectively, and consistently produce high-quality work with minimal supervision.

• Independently perform complete setups and operate large CNC horizontal boring and milling machines
• Use provided programs to produce close-tolerance components accurately and efficiently
• Select and properly apply tooling, work holding, and machining methods appropriate for each job
• Understand machining processes and recognize potential risk areas before and during machining
• Monitor machining operations and make appropriate adjustments to maintain part quality and dimensional requirements
• Perform in-process inspections and verify dimensions using appropriate gaging and precision measuring equipment
• Apply knowledge of Fanuc G-code programming when reviewing or adjusting machining programs
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, setup, and process-related issuesTroubleshoot

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 10 years of large-part machining experience required
• Extensive experience independently setting up and operating CNC horizontal boring and milling equipment required
• Advanced large-part CNC machining and setup skills
• Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, work holding, and gaging
• Sound understanding of Fanuc G-code programming
• Ability to recognize machining risks and proactively prevent part-quality issues
• Ability to produce close-tolerance work accurately and efficiently
• Strong math and problem-solving skills
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team
• Strong attention to quality, safety, and detail
• Must be able to read and understand English

Experience with similar large horizontal boring and milling equipment is highly relevant.

• Ikegai NB 110T CNC HBM
• Ikegai NB 130P CNC HBM
• Niigata HN80D
• Niigata HN100D
• Toyoda FX 800

• Ability to stand and work for extended periods
• Frequent walking, bending, reaching, and movement around large machining equipment
• Manual dexterity required for machine setup, tooling, and precision measurement
• Ability to safely handle tooling, fixtures, materials, and components associated with machining operations
• Ability to perform physical activities associated with large-part machine setup and operation
• Exposure to moving equipment and machine parts
• High noise levels from operating machinery
• Exposure to fumes, dust, and mist
• Skin exposure to oils and cutting fluids
