Charter Dura-Bar is seeking a CNC and Manual Machinist to set up and operate CNC and manual equipment to produce precision components from continuous cast iron bar. In this on-site role, you will interpret blueprints, perform setups and tool changes, and inspect parts using precision measuring tools to ensure tight tolerances and product quality. You will work within a safety-focused, team-oriented environment that values continuous improvement, problem-solving, and professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC and manual machines to produce precision components from continuous cast iron bar products.
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine machining operations and tolerances.
  • Perform machine setups, tool changes, and offsets to meet specifications and production targets.
  • Use precision measuring tools to inspect parts and ensure dimensional accuracy and quality standards.
  • Monitor machine performance, troubleshoot basic issues, and make adjustments to optimize throughput.
  • Follow all safety procedures and 5
  • S/lean practices in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and team members to resolve machining and quality issues.
  • Complete required production and quality documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Perform routine machine cleaning and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Support continuous improvement, suggesting process, tooling, and quality enhancements.
