Schedule: 2-2-3 Rotating Schedule
Pay: $33.00 - $42.00 per hour, based on experience

Pregis is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our Elgin manufacturing team. This role is ideal for mechanically inclined professionals with industrial maintenance experience who enjoy troubleshooting equipment, solving problems, and supporting production operations in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Our Maintenance Technicians play a critical role in maximizing equipment uptime, supporting production efficiency, and ensuring safe, reliable operation of our manufacturing systems.

What You'll DoEquipment Maintenance & Repair
- Perform scheduled, preventive, and emergency maintenance on production equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Support utility systems and production support equipment
- Diagnose equipment failures and implement corrective actions
- Perform equipment adjustments and repairs to minimize downtime
- Communicate equipment concerns and repair status with production and maintenance teams
- Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and automation systems
- Diagnose issues involving AC/DC drives and electrical controls
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, manuals, and technical documentation
- Support continuous operation of automated manufacturing equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance activities according to established schedules
- Document maintenance activities in the CMMS/work order system
- Track equipment performance and maintenance history
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and completed work orders
- Monitor and report replacement part usage and inventory levels
- Follow all OSHA, company safety, MSS, and SOP requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Support sanitation and housekeeping standards
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and production efficiency
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Promote a strong safety-first culture
- PLC certification required
- Minimum of 1 year of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
- Experience working with preventive maintenance programs and work order systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and measuring devices
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
