Kids Around the World is looking for a driven and passionate individual to join our team as a Part‑Time Mission Trip Planner. This role involves assisting in planning short‑term mission trips to our key countries:
Panama, Uganda, the Dominican Republic, and Ecuador. The position can be local or remote to the KATW headquarters in Rockford, IL. We are looking for someone with excellent organizational skills, discipline, and the ability to work collaboratively with various partners, teams, and volunteers.
- Work alongside the Trips Manager to enhance the overall KATW trip experience, including communication, resources, questions, and follow‑up.
- Assist in the launch and execution of KATW GO Trips.
- Help with logistics, travel arrangements, accommodations, and itinerary creation.
- Coordinate with local staff and partners on all trip logistics.
- Ensure all aspects of the trip are well‑organized and capture the mission and experience of KATW.
- Distribute pre‑trip materials to participants, including schedules, packing lists, and cultural information.
- Follow up with volunteers on questions and concerns.
- Provide training for new and recurring volunteers to prepare them for their trip experience.
- Organize debriefing sessions with volunteers and collect participant feedback to improve future trips.
- Have flexibility with hours, including availability to work late or early and on the weekends if needed.
- Express the mission and vision of KATW to all participants.
- Have the ability and responsibility to be “on call” during certain times to support team travel and any necessary troubleshooting.
- Possess excellent customer service skills to encourage and instill confidence in volunteer team members, many of whom may be new to international travel.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in keeping timelines and working in time constraints.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Prior experience would be ideal but not required.
- Passionate about KATW’s Christian mission and living it out in the office or through your interactions with staff and partners/volunteers.
- Capable of working with a wide variety of partners and volunteers from individuals, families, churches, businesses, etc.
