Job Description & How to Apply Below

Take Action Today began in 2020 as Southern Illinois’ first recovery community organization, built on the simple truth that people can and do recover, and that communities are stronger when lived experience leads the way.

From that belief, we’ve grown into a regional anchor for peer‑led recovery support. Today, TAT operates three low‑barrier resource centers in Benton, Marion, and Carbondale. We help communities build their own recovery‑oriented supports, and we facilitate ROSC councils across Franklin, Williamson, Perry, and Jackson counties to strengthen connection, collaboration, and hope.

We also lead the Southern Illinois Youth Empowerment Network, bringing prevention, life skills, and leadership development to young people across the region long before crisis ever takes hold. Every part of our work is peer‑driven, shaped by people who have lived recovery and know what it takes to build it.

Now, we’re searching for our next Executive Director someone ready to carry this mission forward.

As Executive Director, you’ll partner closely with our Board, support and empower a peer‑led workforce, strengthen organizational operations and financial health, and help turn community ideas into real, lasting action. You don’t need a traditional career path. You need a commitment to recovery, a respect for lived experience, and the courage to lead with transparency, accountability, and heart.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Understands recovery and values peer leadership
  • Builds trust with staff, partners, and communities
  • Can stabilize and strengthen operations
  • Believes in empowering people navigating substance use, homelessness, and recovery

This is an opportunity to lead something meaningful in communities where recovery support truly matters.

Benefits:
Employer‑funded health insurance, flexible scheduling, paid time off

Final date to receive applications:
Friday, October 17, 2026
