Job Description
Bio Life Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd., seeks a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. The role reports to the Plasma Center Manager and involves determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, notifying donors of unsuitable test results, and providing medical and technical support under the guidance of the Center Physician.
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing serological protein electrophoresis.
- Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including standing orders and donor transport to emergency care.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical issues.
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation requirements with occupational health/ER; refer to EHS guidance.
- Coordinate pandemic investigations within the community when authorized by EHS.
- High school diploma or recognized nursing program with state licensure requirements.
- Current state license as LPN or LVN.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Completion of state IV therapy requirements.
- Completion of FDA-approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of clinical or hospital experience.
Location:
USA – IL – Rockford. U.S. hourly wage range: $24.00 – $33.00, based on qualifications, experience, and skills.
