Role Summary
Our client, a dialysis services provider
, is seeking a Registered Nurse – Hemodialysis to deliver in-center chronic dialysis care. This role is responsible for direct patient care, treatment management, care planning, and patient education for individuals with end-stage renal disease (ESRD).
The RN will work closely with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams to ensure safe, effective dialysis treatment while supporting quality outcomes, patient satisfaction, and regulatory compliance
. The position also contributes to unit operations, staff support, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
.
- Provide safe, effective, age-appropriate hemodialysis care in accordance with clinical standards and regulatory requirements.
- Initiate, monitor, and discontinue dialysis treatments; perform pre- and post-treatment patient assessments
. - Monitor patient condition during treatment and identify, report, and respond to complications
. - Administer medications and treatments as prescribed within scope of practice.
- Perform vascular access care and follow appropriate infection control and isolation protocols
. - Obtain and process laboratory specimens; assist with transfusions as applicable.
- Develop, implement, and update individualized patient care plans
. - Provide patient and family education related to dialysis care and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation in electronic or manual medical records.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, infection control protocols, and regulatory guidelines
. - Support quality assurance and performance improvement (QA/QI) initiatives
. - Assist with staff training, onboarding, and competency development.
- Participate in staff meetings, in-services, and continuous education programs.
- Collaborate with leadership on staff scheduling and unit operations as needed.
- Maintain proper operation, cleaning, and monitoring of dialysis and water treatment equipment.
- Report equipment issues and coordinate with biomedical or maintenance teams.
- Assist with inventory management and supply ordering.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
. - Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in applicable state.
- Approximately 1 year of nursing experience
. - Current BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association).
- Completion of hemodialysis training program (or willingness to complete).
- Ability to learn and operate hemodialysis machines and related equipment
. - Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (if required for role).
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or related healthcare field.
- Prior hemodialysis experience
. - ICU/CCU experience
. - Experience with quality improvement initiatives and clinical education
.
