Program Overview

Start your NP career in a value‑based care environment with Oak Street Health's NP Fellowship in Adult Primary Care. The 12‑month paid fellowship, in collaboration with the University of Michigan School of Nursing, provides the necessary skills, support, and learning to become a confident and competent clinician for older adults. Fellows build a patient panel, learn from multiple preceptors, and engage in didactic content that builds on graduate training.

All fellows commit to working at Oak Street for at least a year following program completion. The program runs two cohorts each year, starting in March and September.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Annual salary: $100,000.
  • Competitive salary relative to other fellowship programs.

  • Typical pay range: $87,035 – $187,460.
  • Anticipated weekly hours: 40 (full time).
Requirements
  • Family, adult, or adult‑gerontology primary care nurse practitioners who graduated or will graduate between December 2024 and May 2026.
  • Will reside or relocate to the fellowship location for at least the next two years.
  • Have not worked as an NP before.
  • At least one year experience as an adult RN within the last five years.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 in NP program.
  • Passed or in process of passing NP board examinations by 6/6/2026.
  • Active, non‑probationary state NP license by 8/3/2026.
  • Passion for adult primary care.
  • Supportive attitude toward older adult patients.
  • Team‑oriented and enjoys collaboration.
  • Interest in empirically guided population health.
  • Preferred language skills depending on clinic location.
