You will be a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) reporting to the Plasma Center Manager and working under the guidance of a Center Physician for medical issues. You will be familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment and will follow guidance provided by Bio Life Medical Affairs and provide center level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS).
Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility, including management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions as outlined in SOPs, follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies and coordinate donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when providing unacceptable findings to donors or guiding concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
- Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER, following EHS guidance regarding employee incidents.
- Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations associated with pandemic threats within the local community.
- High school diploma or recognized educational nursing program with state nursing requirements; graduate education included.
- Currently licensed as LPN or LVN in the state of assignment.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Complete FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

Compensation and Benefits SummaryUSA – IL – Rockford
U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $22.80 – $31.35
Actual hourly wage may be influenced by qualifications, experience, unique skills, education, certifications, and location. Wage offered will comply with state or local minimum wage requirements.
