Overview
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Primary Charge Nurse assists in overseeing and directing the business of the unit within the shift to meet the needs of the patients and care team. Responsible for patient flow and throughput, ensuring processes and resources are optimized to meet patient needs. Serves as a role model for customer service, patient care standards, and professional relationships. Determines work priorities, prepares daily work assignments, and serves as a resource person for unit personnel in resolving operational and patient care problems.
Works at the highest level of licensure by providing quality competent care, following best practice standards, working to achieve care goals and quality outcomes, and following standards of care set by the state boards of nursing.
Pay range for this position is $45.86 - $59.13/hour. Actual pay is based on years of licensure. This is an Hourly position.
QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education:
BSN or must be obtained within 3 years of date of hire into role - Experience:
2 years of experience on the unit or similar unit. - Licensure/ Certification:
Current Registered Nurse licensure by the State Board of Nursing in appropriate state (Illinois or Michigan). BLS and ACLS, PALS, or other certification as required by unit. - Other Skills/ Knowledge:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
