Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) manages and coordinates nursing care activities during hospitalization. This includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, and evaluation. The RN directs and is responsible for other personnel involved in client care. The RN maintains professional accountability for all nursing care provided. Demonstrates competency in nursing judgment. Maintains awareness of economic barriers to health care and acts accordingly. Demonstrates knowledge of nursing care needs for various clinical specialties.
Will work with clients 18 years of age and older. Essential Functions and Duties:
Ability to organize and coordinate nursing care delivery for assigned clients. No performance deficiencies caused by failure to adapt to new techniques. Ability to direct others in health care delivery. Requires regular talking and hearing. Must be able to stand for 4-6 hours. Provides direct client care activities if required, following defined policies and procedures. Requires a concentrated level of attention.

Provides appropriate nursing care by planning, organizing, and directing nursing functions for clients. Makes nursing assignments appropriate to the skill level of employees. Accurately and promptly implements physician orders. Prepares, administers, and records medications according to policy. Records information concisely, accurately, and completely.
Complies with all infection control policies and procedures. Coordinates and provides emergency care as needed. Participates in training for personnel. Evaluates the performance of personnel with recommendations for appropriate action. Complies with all organization policies and assists in policy revision. Identifies and utilizes appropriate channels of communication. Adjusts interventions based on guidelines as indicated. Demonstrates the ability to set priorities in providing safe client care.
