Travelers may care for trauma patients after they have been stabilized.

Proficiency in titrating various medications, including vasopressors, cardiac drips, and antihypertensive drugs, is essential. A minimum of three physicians are staffed at all times, along with house supervisors. ED techs assist nurses, with a typical ratio of 1 tech for every 9 patients.
Nurses are expected to interpret cardiac rhythms and act accordingly, with Phillips monitors in use. Nurses, along with techs, will be responsible for drawing labs. The schedule includes weekend rotations, with requirements for every other weekend and occasional holidays. Floating to other units as needed may occur, though travelers are rarely floated.
