Role: Pet Care Attendant
Status: Part-Time
Salary: Negotiable and based on experience
Schedule: Hours to be discussed during the interview process. Rotating Saturdays required.
Bellwood Animal Hospital is a five-doctor small animal and exotic practice in Rockford, Illinois, known for providing high-quality medicine and exceptional client service. We’re looking for a Pet Care Attendant who is passionate about patient care, teamwork, and creating a clean, comfortable environment for the animals entrusted to us.

- Provide compassionate daily care for animals in the hospital
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, runs, treatment areas, and other patient-care spaces
- Feed, water, walk, and monitor patients according to hospital protocols
- Complete laundry and help maintain appropriate sanitation standards throughout the hospital
- Observe patients for changes in behavior or condition and communicate concerns to the medical team
- Assist teammates with safe patient handling and movement as needed
- Keep animal-care areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards
- Restock supplies and help maintain an efficient hospital environment
- Support hospital cleanliness across treatment and kennel areas
- Jump in wherever needed to help keep the day running smoothly
- A genuine passion for animal care and patient well-being
- Comfort working in a fast-paced veterinary environment
- Previous veterinary clinic, hospital, boarding, or animal-care experience preferred but not required
- Compassionate and professional communication skills
- Excellent multitasking skills and the ability to remain calm in a busy environment
- A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and willingness to jump in without waiting to be asked
- Positive attitude, reliability, and a team-first approach
- Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and hospital workflows is a plus
- Willingness to learn and continue developing your animal-care skills
