Status: Part-Time

Salary: Negotiable and based on experience

Schedule: Hours to be discussed during the interview process. Rotating Saturdays required.

Bellwood Animal Hospital is a five-doctor small animal and exotic practice in Rockford, Illinois, known for providing high-quality medicine and exceptional client service. • Provide compassionate daily care for animals in the hospital
• Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, runs, treatment areas, and other patient-care spaces
• Feed, water, walk, and monitor patients according to hospital protocols
• Complete laundry and help maintain appropriate sanitation standards throughout the hospital
• Observe patients for changes in behavior or condition and communicate concerns to the medical team
• Assist teammates with safe patient handling and movement as needed
• Keep animal-care areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards
• Restock supplies and help maintain an efficient hospital environment
• Support hospital cleanliness across treatment and kennel areas
• Jump in wherever needed to help keep the day running smoothly

• A genuine passion for animal care and patient well-being
• Comfort working in a fast-paced veterinary environment
• Previous veterinary clinic, hospital, boarding, or animal-care experience preferred but not required
• Compassionate and professional communication skills
• Excellent multitasking skills and the ability to remain calm in a busy environment
• A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and willingness to jump in without waiting to be asked
• Positive attitude, reliability, and a team-first approach
• Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards
• Familiarity with veterinary terminology and hospital workflows is a plus
• Willingness to learn and continue developing your animal-care skills
