Position Title: Quality Technician

Salary: $47,840-$54,080/year

Shift: 1st

Hours: 5:00am-4:30pm

Rockford, IL

Quality Technician Responsibilities
  • Oversee and support incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities for fasteners
  • Maintain and update ISO 9001 documentation and support the overall Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Review material certifications, heat‑treat records, and plating/coating documentation for accuracy
  • Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions for internal or customer issues
  • Monitor calibration status of measurement tools and maintain related records
  • Support internal audits and assist with customer or supplier quality reviews
  • Work with plant leadership to prepare for and participate in ISO 9001 audits, ensuring records and processes are audit‑ready
  • Collaborate with production teams to resolve nonconformances and promote continuous improvement
  • Prepare basic quality reports and track key quality metrics
  • Operate standard shop equipment such as manual mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, or saws to perform simple test cuts, fixture checks, sample prep, or basic verification tasks
Quality Technician Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in quality inspection or quality support within a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements and documentation practices
  • Ability to read blueprints and use standard precision tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, hardness testers)
  • Familiarity with basic quality tools such as control plans, SPC checks, nonconformance reporting, and corrective actions
  • Comfort using basic manual shop machinery for simple inspection‑related tasks
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and communication skills
