Arma Biosciences is an emerging diagnostics company with a revolutionary technology platform for biomarker detection that can be used in the home to manage chronic disease.

As a key member of the technical team, the Research Technician will be closely involved in the company’s electrochemical sensor development activities leading to regulatory clearance and CLIA-waiver in the USA.

The Research Technician will oversee testing and development of the molecular sensors that are a core component of the first product; aid in managing lab operations related to electrochemical sensor development; together with the R&D Scientist, facilitate the delivery of completed sensor development projects in accordance with time and budget constraints, and foster innovative solutions to customer needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute test plans evaluating performance of Arma’s biomarker monitoring system
  • Prepare reagents and consumables for testing and adhere to standard operating procedures
  • Perform tasks to maintain laboratory infrastructure (ordering and tracking of materials, prepping buffers and maintenance of R&D equipment).
  • Test contrived and clinical specimens
Knowledge Required
  • University degree in science or engineering, combined with a minimum 2 years industrial experience
  • Working knowledge of chemistry/biochemistry/biology as they pertain to diagnostic devices
  • Familiarity with quality systems and regulatory compliance
  • Experience with development and execution of SOPs
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and with short deadlines to accomplish objectives
  • Data analysis and compilation
Experience Preferred
  • 2+ yrs industry experience in assay development, clinical instrumentation and/or consumable development; in-vitro diagnostic experience highly desirable
  • Significant success within a small, emerging company environment
  • Experience with analytical chemistry and/or electrochemical methods
