ResponsibilitiesThe Banquet Bartender is responsible for providing professional, efficient, and friendly beverage service during banquet and special event functions. This role ensures accurate drink preparation, compliance with alcohol service laws, proper cash handling (if applicable), and exceptional guest service in accordance with company standards.
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverages according to recipes and service standards.
- Provide friendly, prompt, and courteous service to all guests.
- Review banquet event orders (BEOs) to understand event‑specific beverage needs.
- Set up and break down portable bars, including stocking liquor, beer, wine, mixers, glassware, and garnishes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area throughout the event.
- Monitor guest alcohol consumption and ensure responsible service in compliance with state and company policies.
- Verify guest age identification as required by law.
- Handle cash, credit, or ticket transactions accurately (if applicable).
- Maintain inventory control and notify management of low stock levels.
- Assist banquet servers and other team members to ensure seamless event execution.
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
- Comply with all company policies and regulatory requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous bartending experience required; banquet or event bartending experience preferred.
- Knowledge of standard drink recipes and mixology techniques.
- Must obtain and maintain required alcohol service certification (e.g., BASSET in Illinois).
- Must obtain and maintain any required gaming license (if applicable).
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Standing for extended periods of time.
- Lifting up to 30–40 pounds (kegs, bar equipment, cases of liquor).
- Frequent reaching, bending, and carrying.
