We’re seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join our team to help with store operations, customer service and team development.
Responsibilities- Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
- Provide customer assistance in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
- Transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor, maintaining seasonal areas
- Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
- Process all corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey, and promotional communications
- Maintain promotional effectiveness of store‑front fixtures and displays
- Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged items, and record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits and receipts)
- Support loss prevention and secure all company assets, including store cash
- Maintain store areas to company standards, ensuring a well‑stocked sales floor and organized stockroom
- Adhere to safety guidelines and ensure all associates follow company policies
- Supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
- Maintain cleanliness and presentability of the store (cleaning bathrooms, sweeping/mopping floors, trash removal)
- Ensure compliance with local licensing requirements for alcohol and tobacco sales
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives (e.g., merchandise schematics)
- Store management experience in a retail, grocery or drug store environment preferred
- Physical ability to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills
- Experience working in a high‑energy, team environment
