Overview
As Assistant Store Manager, you will be the right‑hand to the Store Manager and will be trained to cover all aspects of store operations, achieve key performance and financial objectives, and provide directional and performance planning. You will help ensure every customer experience is better than the last.
Responsibilities- Assist with the management of all aspects of store operations including customer service, store condition, and the selection, training, supervising, and performance management of Store Sales Associates.
- Assist in unloading all merchandise from delivery trucks, organize merchandise, and transfer merchandise from stockroom to store.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure the store meets or exceeds established merchandising standards for product quality, presentation, and visual marketing/merchandising.
- Keep up with reporting to support sales, earnings, and minimize shrink.
- Assume full management responsibility in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Two (2) or more years of grocery or retail management experience.
- Hands‑on leadership experience in grocery retail (e.g., Produce, Deli/Bakery, or Meat/Seafood departments) is highly preferred but not required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record per GFS policy.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs with frequent lifting above shoulder height.
- Ability to work a flexible, full‑time schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Successfully pass pre‑employment checks, including a drug screen and criminal background check.
