The Assistant Store Manager (ASM) at Gordon Food Service supports the Store Manager in leading daily operations, ensuring the store meets sales, quality, and customer service goals.

Hours:
Monday to Saturday 7:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Sunday 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

- Assist with the management of all aspects of store operations, including customer service, store condition, and the selection, training, supervising, and performance management of Store Sales Associates.
- Assist in unloading merchandise from delivery trucks, organizing merchandise, and transferring items from stockroom to store.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure the store meets or exceeds merchandising standards for product quality, presentation, and visual marketing/merchandising.
- Keep up with reporting to support sales, earnings, and minimize shrink.
- Assume full management responsibility in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Two (2) or more years of grocery or retail management experience.
- Hands‑on leadership experience in grocery retail (e.g., Produce, Deli/Bakery, or Meat/Seafood departments) is highly preferred but not required.
- Physical requirement: ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs, frequently lifting above shoulder height.
- Schedule availability: ability to work a flexible, full‑time schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successfully pass pre‑employment checks, including a drug screen and criminal background check.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record, per GFS policy.
