Store Detective - Part Time

Job Overview

As a member of Meijer, you will work to ensure a safe and secure environment for customers, team members, and vendors. You will be responsible for investigating internal and external theft, including organized retail crime activity, and applying best practices to improve asset protection and safety.

• Visually inspect building exterior, parking lot, and indoor areas to mitigate hazards.
• Conduct walking inspections of backroom and sales floor.
• Review cashier exception reports.
• Conduct internal theft surveillance and review theft activity reports.
• Conduct shoplifting surveillance and report safety hazards to store leadership.
• Test and inspect camera equipment and alarm system for suspicious activity.
• Participate in apprehension of individuals in violation of the law and assist in prosecution of external theft cases.
• Engage in extensive documentation and report writing to ensure complete incident history for potential litigation.
• Testify in criminal and civil court proceedings.
• Adhere to all safety practices, principles, guidelines, and policies.
• Practice 200% safety accountability.
• Perform other duties as required.

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of 6 months experience in security or at least 1 year of work experience.
