The Outside Security Technician is primarily responsible for installing, maintaining and inspecting electronic low voltage alarm systems. These systems include, but are not limited to fire, security, access control, CCTV, and all integrated combinations.
LocationOur Security Technicians can live anywhere across the Greater Twin Cities metro area. They have a company vehicle and go straight to the job site from home. We have a weekly meeting at our headquarters in Rockford, MN and Techs replenish inventory, get fuel, and have their vehicles services by our on-site mechanic.
Pay and Benefits$25-33/hour depending on qualifications. Higher pay for PLT license. Eligible for full medical, dental and vision benefits, 401k contribution and employer match, and Paid Time Off.
Responsibilities/FunctionsSecurity Installation
- Perform all aspects of installation and service processes.
- Ensure company vehicle is clean and in good working order. Report all issues to supervisor.
- Maintain product inventory and procedures.
- Maintain tool inventory.
- Assist Sales Representatives with assembling sales proposals as needed.
- Comply with all safety rules
- Stay abreast of state regulations and laws, industry standards, practices and code requirements.
- Maintain knowledge of all industry trends and changes
- Ensure compliance with all safety rules and regulations
- Participate in company meetings and events as required.
- Attend regular team meetings and trainings
Education and Experience
- 1 year of experience in security, telecommunications or other low voltage preferred
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to obtain a Power Limited Technician (PLT) license certification and the ability to maintain the license
- Intermediate-level computer skills, basic knowledge of networking and IP communications
- Strong customer service skills
- Exceptional organization skills, attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness are also requirements
