Field Service Technician (THIS WILL BE ABOUT 75% TRAVEL)
Job DescriptionAs a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting equipment at customer sites. You will act as a technical expert on all machines, serving both new and existing customers. Your role will involve analyzing work orders, conducting tests, investigating complaints, and resolving problems to ensure customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities- Analyze requirements and establish service by ordering and gathering components and parts.
- Complete installations and perform acceptance tests.
- Maintain rapport with customers by examining complaints and identifying solutions.
- Suggest improved methods and techniques and recommend system improvements.
- Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions and troubleshooting breakdowns.
- Perform preventive maintenance and call for repairs when necessary.
- 5+ years of experience in troubleshooting machinery, both mechanical and electrical.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Basic experience in PLC troubleshooting.
Skills & Qualifications
- Must be willing to travel 70%+ of the time, with weekends at home.

Must be located within driving distance of Rockford.
This role involves a significant amount of travel. The travel policy provides that if the one‑way trip is 600 miles or less or takes 10 hours, you may choose to rent a car, drive your own vehicle, or fly. Company credit cards are provided to cover expenses such as hotels, air travel, and rental cars. A $60 per day meal allowance is provided, reimbursed regardless of actual spending.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockford, IL.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
