Position: MAINTENANCE WORKER V
BASIC FUNCTION:

Under the direction of the Director of Facilities, performs a variety of skilled work at journeyman level in the mechanical and building trades.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reliable, prompt attendance.

Performs a variety of tasks of a skilled nature requiring the manual use of tools, mechanical and electrical aptitude.

Maintains and performs operating repairs to electrical equipment, appliances, boilers and furnaces.

Performs carpentry, masonry and plumbing tasks at journeyman level.

Will be on weekend/after hours coverage as needed and/or as assigned.

Perform weekly generator tests under “Load” and record in  compliance with Milestone, Inc.’s philosophy and policies regarding Human Rights, immediately intervenes on behalf of the individual(s) served and reports to the appropriate agency (OIG, DCFS, IDPH) and/or supervisor.

Performs other duties as assigned or directed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED.Minimum age of 18 years old.

Three years skilled work performed at the journeyman level in mechanical trades.

Able to work independently after receiving oral/written directions.

Must have valid driver’s license/good driving record when specified.

No weight restrictions.
