Diesel Mechanic Technician

Position Description

Mid‑Level Diesel Technician – Harvard, Illinois.

• Hourly Pay: $27.85 per hour
• ASE Certification bonus: up to $700
• Quarterly bonus: up to $500
• Schedule:
  
  Monday–Friday, 3:00 pm–11:30 pm (second shift)

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties.
• Conduct standard vehicle maintenance and component inspections.
• Execute preventive maintenance and diagnostics.
• Identify root causes of mechanical failures and perform required repairs.
• Replace defective components as instructed.
• Maintain facility and safety standards.
• Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints.
• Use Shop Management System and electronic documentation.
• Comply with federal, provincial, and corporate guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT).
• Perform other support duties as required to support operations.

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Vocational or technical certification or post‑secondary degree (preferred).
• Experienced with routine preventive maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work).
• At least two years of classroom training and work experience in automotive gas or diesel engine repair.
• Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred).
• Must obtain a CDL within six months after hire.
• Pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background check.
