Ryder is hiring a Mid‑Level Diesel Technician in Harvard, Illinois. The position offers hourly pay of $27.85, scheduled Monday to Friday on the second shift (3:00 pm–11:30 pm), weekly pay, comprehensive benefits, and a stable career path in the heavy‑duty vehicle maintenance industry.

- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Vocational or technical certification, post‑secondary degree, or technical certifications (preferred)
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work, etc.)
- Two years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience (preferred)
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred)
- Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
- Must pass a Ryder drug test, a DOT physical, a Ryder road test, and a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard maintenance, component inspections, and preventive maintenance
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers as applicable
- Identify root causes of failures or conditions and perform required repairs
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers and drivers to determine the nature of complaints when assigned a task
- Utilize key functions of the shop management system and electronic documentation available
- Work in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT) and other support duties as required
