Job Summary
Woodward is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to support the Rock Cut Campus in Loves Park, IL. The technician will lead projects, perform installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of HVAC systems, and mentor junior technicians.
CompensationHourly base pay ranges:
Level II
: $24.52 - $31.73 - $39.43.
Level III
: $28.85 - $37.50 - $46.15. All levels eligible for benefits.

- Install HVAC systems according to established procedures and specifications.
- Conduct regular maintenance to ensure efficient operation.
- Develop and carry out preventive maintenance schedules.
- Diagnose and resolve typical HVAC problems.
- Mentor less experienced team members.
- Optimize technical processes to improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with team members to support project objectives.
- Document maintenance activities and service reports.
- Expertise in installing and maintaining HVAC systems
- Advanced knowledge of complex HVAC systems and refrigeration cycles
- Technical troubleshooting of intricate HVAC issues
- Leadership and mentorship capabilities
- Project management from initiation to completion
- Regulatory compliance knowledge of HVAC codes and standards
- Mechanical aptitude, blueprint interpretation skills
- Electrical wiring and control system installation
- Safety compliance and incident prevention
- Customer service and communication skills
- Tool proficiency and documentation skills
- EPA Section 608 Certification or equivalent
- Journeyman HVAC experience
- Experience with Trane HVAC monitoring systems
- Knowledge of 800-ton chiller units and boilers
- Experience performing preventative maintenance on large commercial units
- Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills
- U.S. Person status or qualified for required authorization (ITAR/EAR compliance)
- Lifting or moving objects, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, work in tight spaces.
- Work in moderate or extreme temperatures and conditions requiring protective gear.
- May involve repetitive kneeling and tight spaces.
- Position subject to ITAR and/or EAR. All applicants must be U.S. Persons or obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and/or Commerce.
