YOUR IMPACT

The Wellness Center Attendant supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. This position interacts with new and existing members to help them in achieving their health and well-being goals. The Wellness Center Attendant creates a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members of all backgrounds and abilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides equipment orientations to members and helps them with the technology involved with the consoles and the mobile app.
  • Maintains and cleans equipment according to the schedule or as requested by supervisor.
  • Maintains gym floor by re-racking weights and stocking towels/cleaner as needed.
  • Answers questions from members to support them in achieving their goals related to healthy living. Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members.
  • Builds effective, authentic relationships with members. Helps members connect with each other and the YMCA. Introduces new members to group exercise communities based on their health and well-being goals.
  • Utilizes tools and information for the purpose of increasing member knowledge of wellness and wellness programs provided through the YMCA including the YMCA app, handouts and schedules.
  • Follows YMCA policies and procedures. Responds to emergency situations.
  • Attends all staff meetings.
  • Ensures a strong focus on character development and diversity, equity and inclusion throughout programming.
  • Reports damaged equipment or safety hazards promptly.
  • Performs any other functions necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the YMCA of Rock River Valley.
SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION

1 Position. Positions 1:
Swedish American Riverfront YMCA
Part-Time, Non-Exempt
Wednesday and Friday 3:00 - 6:00 pm
Saturday 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
$15.00 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Fitness knowledge preferred
  • Comfortable with fitness related technology
  • CPR, AED and First Aid certifications required within 90 days
  • Current Praesidium Academy trainings

  • Report any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor.
  • Complete all child abuse prevention training as required.
