Make a real impact supporting students as a Speech Language Pathologist in a vibrant school community near Rockford, IL. This contract role starts August 11, 2026 and runs through the end of the school year on May 28, 2027, offering full-time hours (37.5/week) and the opportunity to serve either elementary or early childhood students based on your experience and interests. You'll work alongside passionate colleagues, helping children develop crucial communication skills that pave the way for academic and social success.

What you bring:

  • Valid Illinois State License (IDFPR) as a Speech Language Pathologist (CCC or CF-SLP)
  • Illinois ISBE Professional Educator License (PEL) with Speech-Language endorsement
  • Schools-based SLP experience preferred
  • New graduates with strong clinical foundations are encouraged to apply
  • Open to SLP-As only when specifically indicated
  • Dedication to supporting students with diverse backgrounds and needs
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive speech and language therapy to students in accordance with their IEPs
  • Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to ensure integrated student support
  • Assess, develop, and regularly update goals and treatment plans
  • Maintain clear, timely records in compliance with district and state policies
  • Participate in IEP meetings, contribute to evaluations, and offer guidance for classroom strategies
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute positively to the school environment
