Rate: $21.00 per hour
Responsibilities MONITOR THE DELIVERY OF RRM SERVICES TO CRISIS GUESTS- Monitor the delivery, service, and cleanup of meals (breakfast & lunch) to the Crisis guests and Recovery Residents.
- Assist Crisis population in obtaining needed clothing, either from the Men’s Crisis Program emergency closet or by referral to another agency.
- Assess the emotional and spiritual needs of Crisis guests, intervening whenever possible and referring to the Chaplain or Homeless Services Supervisor for help when indicated.
- Assist male Crisis guests in checking-out from overnight shelter services.
- Develop Day Room activities and monitor all behaviors.
- Intervene with those individuals that fall short of meeting the program and spiritual expectations.
- Function in a role of Crisis interventionist by assessing and doing brief counseling.
- Look for opportunities to make referrals to the Chaplain or Homeless Services Supervisor for counseling/case management follow-up.
- Be vigilant for any inappropriate behaviors, i.e., smoking, drugs and/or alcohol possession or use, threats or physical violence, thievery, and/or weapons.
- Exhibit non-threatening, conflict resolution during guest, candidate, or client disputes.
- Enforce program principles and procedures in a spirit of compassion and respect (Eph.
4:1-3,7). - Document any and all corrective actions. Perform filing where designated, and route copies to staff when appropriate.
- Oversee the morning cleanup of the Crisis area. Be sure linens, towels and pajamas are laundered. Assign guests to specific chores, document their service and follow-up. Report shortcomings to the Lead Coordinator or Homeless Services Supervisor.
- Be vigilant to help prevent any accidents, acts of violence and/or any Crisis situations from occurring.
- Note any hazards or potentially hazardous situations and either correct the situation or refer the issue to the Homeless Services Supervisor for follow-up.
- Notify appropriate local emergency personnel (medical, mental health, law enforcement, fire department, etc.) when needed; call Homeless Services Supervisor as indicated in program call procedure.
- Defuse and/or refer all incoming Crisis telephone calls and document for follow-up.
- Keep cleaning and personal hygiene supplies stocked at an adequate level for day-to-day operations, in cooperation with the Facilities Department.
- Attend weekly Crisis Program staff meetings.
- Attend any internal/external trainings, staffing meetings, or seminars as suggested by Homeless Services Supervisor.
- Attend weekly supervisory meetings with Homeless Services Supervisor.
- Attend any required first aid, CPR, and/or fire safety trainings as scheduled by Homeless Services Supervisor.
- Document all Crisis/Recovery Program activities and file appropriately (daily logbook, incident reports, client and guest files, observation reports, etc.).
- Perform related work and other duties when required and as assigned.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds over your head.
- Occasional standing for long periods of time.
- Sitting for extended periods of time.
- Ability to speak clearly and with a good command of English. Occasional reaching, bending, twisting and stooping.
- Take every opportunity to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others.
- Provide spiritual encouragement to staff, volunteers, guests, and residents.
- Invest in the spiritual development of staff, guests, residents, and donors.
- Pray for and with staff, volunteers, guests, residents, and donors.
- Ensure actions and policies reflect the Christian values and purpose of the Mission.
- Handle relational conflicts according to the Staff Covenant of Romans 12:18 and Matthew 18:15-19.
- Memorize monthly Scripture, Mission Statement, and Mission Core Values.
- Participate in corporate prayer and Scripture reading, staff chapel services, and all spiritual gatherings.
- Support and attend annual mandatory Evangelism In-Service training to grow in knowledge of leading others to faith in Christ.
- Participate in annual spiritual growth training through organization selected curriculum.
- Minimum requirement High School Diploma or GED.
- Must demonstrate compassion toward the poor, needy, and homeless.
- Must manifest Christian character traits of integrity, trustworthiness, responsibility, etc.
- Must display respect, gentleness, and accountability when interacting with the Crisis guests and Recovery Program clients.
- Must be teachable and function as a team player.
- Must engage in safe and healthy work practices, both on the premises and off-site facilities. Must take an active part ensuring the safety, health and well-being of all of our staff, volunteers, and Mission guests.
- JO3 license required within 90 days of hire.
