This position serves Leyden High School District 212 for the entire first semester of (August 10 – December 18, 2026). The Social Worker Substitute provides school social work services, consultation, crisis support, family outreach, and collaboration with school personnel and community agencies to help reduce barriers that may impact students' academic, social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs.
Responsibilities- Provide individual and group counseling
- Support students through crisis intervention and short‑term problem solving
- Participate in IEP/504, MTSS, re‑entry, threat/risk assessment, and student support meetings
- Document services and progress
- Collaborate with staff and families
- Connect students and families with appropriate school and community resources
Qualified candidates must hold a master's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and a current, valid Illinois Professional Educator License with a School Support Personnel endorsement in School Social Work. Prior school social work experience, high school experience, LSW or LCSW licensure, and bilingual skills are preferred.
CompensationThis position is paid by days worked. The 2026–2027 daily rate is $345 per day.
