Position: School Psychologist [82593]

Onward Education is partnering with a local school district in Lake County, IL to hire a School Psychologist to support K–12 student services. This is an on-site, contract opportunity for a clinician who enjoys collaborating with school teams to strengthen student outcomes across academics, behavior, and social-emotional learning.

In this role, you’ll provide evaluation and consultation services, contribute to IEP/504 decision‑making, and support school-wide practices that promote student well‑being. You’ll work closely with educators, families, and related service providers to ensure students receive the right interventions and supports.

    On-site (Lake County, IL)
  • Schedule:

    32.5 hours/week
Responsibilities
  • Conduct psycho educational evaluations (cognitive, academic, behavioral, social‑emotional) to determine strengths, needs, and eligibility for services.
  • Interpret assessment results and translate findings into practical recommendations for instruction and intervention.
  • Provide individual and/or group counseling and short‑term interventions as appropriate.
  • Consult with teachers, administrators, and families on classroom strategies, behavior supports, and student progress.
  • Participate in and support IEP and 504 processes, including documentation and compliance practices.
  • Support prevention and wellness initiatives (e.g., SEL, trauma‑informed practices, positive behavior supports).
  • Assist with crisis response and provide post‑crisis supports as needed.
  • Use data to monitor progress and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
Qualifications
  • Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Psychologist endorsement (required).
  • School‑based experience preferred (evaluations, team collaboration, IEP/504 involvement).
  • Strong written documentation skills and comfort communicating results to multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to manage timelines, caseload priorities, and compliance requirements.
