School Social Worker, Crisis Counselor

We're partnering with a wonderful school district in McHenry County, IL to hire a compassionate and student-centered School Social Worker for the 2026–2027 school year

This rewarding opportunity allows you to make a meaningful impact on students' lives while working in a collaborative, student-focused environment. You will provide social-emotional support, address behavioral challenges, and partner with educators, administrators, and families to implement intervention strategies that foster student success.
- Location: Onsite in McHenry County, IL
- School Year: 2026–2027
- Start Date: August 2026
- Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
- Work Setting: In-person (no virtual or hybrid options available)
- Provide individual and group counseling services to students to support social, emotional, and behavioral development.
- Conduct social-emotional and behavioral assessments and contribute to IEP and 504 plan development.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to implement intervention strategies and positive behavior supports.
- Support crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and attendance improvement initiatives.
- Consult with families to connect them with school and community-based resources.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with state, federal, and district regulations.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to a supportive, inclusive school climate.
- Master's degree in Social Work
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker endorsement
- Experience working with students in a school setting preferred
- Knowledge of child development, social-emotional learning, and behavioral interventions
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
