School Social Worker - Rockford, IL

This contract position, beginning in August and continuing through late May, offers the rewarding opportunity to guide young learners as they navigate behavioral, emotional, family, or mental health challenges. • Valid Illinois PEL (Professional Educator License) with SSW (School Social Worker) endorsement required
• Experience supporting elementary-aged children in educational or clinical settings preferred
• Strong understanding of social-emotional learning and trauma-informed practices
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and crisis intervention skills
• Dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion in school communities

• Provide individual and small group counseling for elementary students
• Develop and implement social skills and emotional regulation programs
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to address student needs
• Connect families with relevant community resources and support services
• Advocate for students and ensure compliance with IEP and 504 plans as needed
• Document interventions, maintain records, and contribute to progress meetings
