This contract position, beginning in August and continuing through late May, offers the rewarding opportunity to guide young learners as they navigate behavioral, emotional, family, or mental health challenges. Your collaboration will extend beyond the classroom, working closely with families, teachers, and local organizations to ensure every student has access to essential resources. By addressing barriers to learning and supporting attendance, behavior, and academic achievement, youll play a pivotal role in fostering a nurturing and inclusive school environment.
Qualifications andExperience:
- Valid Illinois PEL (Professional Educator License) with SSW (School Social Worker) endorsement required
- Experience supporting elementary-aged children in educational or clinical settings preferred
- Strong understanding of social-emotional learning and trauma-informed practices
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and crisis intervention skills
- Dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion in school communities
- Provide individual and small group counseling for elementary students
- Develop and implement social skills and emotional regulation programs
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to address student needs
- Connect families with relevant community resources and support services
- Advocate for students and ensure compliance with IEP and 504 plans as needed
- Document interventions, maintain records, and contribute to progress meetings
