Pay Rate: $43-$50/HR dep. on experience

We are seeking a compassionate and collaborative School Social Worker to support primarily elementary students, with the possibility of serving secondary students as needed. The School Social Worker will provide counseling, social-emotional support, and resources to help students overcome barriers and succeed academically, behaviorally, and socially.

Required skills and qualifications:
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker endorsement.
  • Masters degree in Social Work from an accredited program.
  • Experience working with school-aged children, particularly elementary students, preferred.
  • Strong counseling, crisis-intervention, communication, and collaboration skills.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual and group counseling to students experiencing behavioral, emotional, family, or mental health challenges.
  • Support students in developing coping skills, emotional regulation, social skills, and positive behaviors.
  • Provide services primarily to elementary-aged students, with potential support at the secondary level.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to address student needs.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and provide social work services for students with identified needs.
  • Connect students and families with school-based and community resources.
  • Support initiatives related to attendance, behavior, crisis intervention, and academic success.
  • Conduct assessments, maintain documentation, and monitor student progress toward social-emotional goals.
  • Advocate for students and help address social, family, and environmental barriers impacting learning.
