Senior Lead Software Engineer, Back End – Golang, Java, AWS

• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers
• Create solutions that meet regulatory needs for Capital One
• Build distributed microservices and full-stack systems
• Stay current with technology trends and experiment with new technologies
• Participate in internal and external technology communities
• Mentor members of the engineering community
• Code or evaluate code as needed
• Collaborate with digital product managers
• Deliver robust cloud-based solutions that support financial empowerment experiences
• Use Java, Python, SQL, Node, Go, Scala, open-source databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS tools and services

• Bachelor’s Degree
• At least 6 years of professional software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply
• At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud
• Master’s Degree preferred
• 9+ years of experience in Java, Scala, Python, Go, or Node.js preferred
• 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service preferred
• 4+ years of experience in open-source frameworks preferred
• 1+ years of people management experience preferred
• 2+ years of experience in Agile practices preferred
• Experience leveraging interactive AI tooling beyond basic code completion preferred
