Driver Trainer/Dispatcher

Designs and administers a comprehensive driver training program and supports the onboarding process for new drivers, ensuring compliance with all applicable requirements from the district, Secretary of State, and Department of Transportation. Support the safe and efficient operation of student transportation services by coordinating daily driver activities, managing route logistics, and maintaining compliance with district and state regulations.

Compensation Range: $27.10 - $28.99

High school diploma or GED certificate. Must have or be able to obtain (within 60 days of hire) and maintain a Class "B" CDL with School Bus, Passenger and Airbrake endorsements. Certified 3rd party bus driver testing administrator for the State of Illinois and a clean driving record.

Ability to demonstrate qualities aligned to our core values of Character, Communication, Collaboration and Continuous Improvement. Computer experience to include e-mail and Microsoft suite. Knowledge of the roads and routes within the City of Rockford. Knowledge of procedures to follow when buses break down. Proficient in Spanish (dependent upon department need)

Working Calendar: 12-month

Working Conditions:

Moderate-in-district travel as well as intermittent in-state and out-of-state travel. Intermittent prolonged and irregular hours of work. Occasional night and weekend hours required.
