Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site CDL A Truck Driver role based in the Greater Rockford Area. The CDL A Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to collect, transport, and deliver recyclable materials between customer locations and company facilities. Day-to-day tasks include performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, securing loads, following assigned routes and schedules, and complying with DOT and company safety regulations.

The driver accurately completes required logs and paperwork, communicates with dispatch and facility staff regarding pickup and delivery times, and assists with basic loading and unloading as needed. The role requires consistent attention to safety, courteous interaction with customers, and adherence to company policies and local, state, and federal transportation regulations.

Qualifications
  • Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record and current DOT medical certification.
  • Previous experience operating commercial trucks, preferably in recycling, waste management, or related transportation industries.
  • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, hours-of-service rules, and safe driving practices.
  • Ability to perform vehicle safety inspections, identify basic mechanical issues, and report maintenance needs promptly.
  • Physical ability to handle routine lifting, climbing in and out of trucks, and working in outdoor environments in varying weather conditions.
  • Reliable time management skills and the ability to follow routes, schedules, and dispatch instructions accurately.
  • Professional communication skills and a customer-focused approach when interacting with clients and team members.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; familiarity with the Greater Rockford Area is an advantage.
  • Commitment to safe work practices, environmental responsibility, and adherence to company policies.
