- Monday – Friday 9am – 5:30pm

SUMMARY

The Shipping Specialist is responsible for ensuring all shipments due on a daily basis. This position is responsible for preparing products for shipment, labeling containers, and loading trucks utilizing a forklift.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prints and/or obtains a copy of the daily shipping report of what is to be shipped on that day
  • Prioritizes and processes shipments according to shipping times, customer priority, and other mitigating exceptions.
  • Wraps, labels, and prepares shipments according to departmental SOP’s.
  • Monitors a company's incoming and outgoing shipping activities, including paperwork, package preparation, and logistics associated with time frames and routing packages to appropriate carriers
  • Works with and schedules trucks using phone, computer, or customer portal
  • Loads trucks with forklift. Will load shipments utilizing available space as efficiently and economically as possible; also known as “cubing out” the trailer
  • Prints bill of lading (BOL), obtains signatures, and provides necessary paperwork to drivers.
  • Performs administrative tasks and advances electronic records of shipments via computer to invoicing
  • Documents any missed shipments and/or missed trucks and escalates issues to supervisor
  • Actively communicates with customer service and other internal parties on any other customer issues

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High school education or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • 1 year of previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous shipping experience preferred.
  • Forklift experience preferred.

The budgeted range for this role is $18 USD - $22

USD per hour. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of the desired level of experience for the position.
