Position Description

Ryder is hiring a Warehouse Team Lead in Rockford, Illinois — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a career you can feel good about.

• Hourly Pay: $20.50 per hour

  Monday‑Friday 6:00 am – 2:30 pm

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• One (1) year or more of powered industrial truck experience preferred
• One (1) year or more of previous Team Lead experience preferred
• One (1) year or more of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) preferred
• One (1) year or more of previous warehouse experience preferred
• Knowledge and experience with an advanced RF scanner required
• Valid forklift operator’s license
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Effective leadership skills
• Flexibility to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent organizational skills
• Proactive approach to responsibilities
• Ability to maintain composure under pressure
• Experience working with health and safety methods
• Bilingual (required for Québec locations only)

• Lead and ensure continuous improvement efforts for optimal efficiency.
• Perform warehouse functions, including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
• Allocate resources and organize daily work duties to team members.
• Inspire and guide team members toward improved KPIs using appropriate leadership styles.
• Assist in orienting employees and provide necessary information, technology, and tools.
• Promote health and safety methods within the warehouse.
• Handle day‑to‑day paperwork such as picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.
• Complete and submit daily reports and propose action plans to enhance operations and service levels.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
