Additional SkillsThis is more of a hands on customer facing role. So someone who has only been driving a lift this is not the ideal candidate for this manager.
Job DescriptionWarehouse Associate to support daily warehouse operations in a customer facing, non distribution environment. This role requires manual order picking, attention to detail, and the ability to assist walk in customers. Unlike large distribution centers, this position involves pulling mixed size orders by hand, stocking product, and ensuring materials are accurately received, stored, and staged. This is a union eligible position if converted to full time.
This is not a high volume distribution warehouse where full pallets are moved all day by forklift.
- Minimum 1 year of warehouse experience
- Experience manually pulling orders using hands, carts, ladders, or order pickers (Candidates whose experience is limited to forklift only or full pallet distribution environments may not be a fit)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail when working with part numbers and bin locations
- Comfortable assisting customers in a face to face environment
- Ability to work at heights (up to 20')
- Manually pick customer and internal orders using hands, order pickers, ladders, and carts (not exclusively forklift work)
- Accurately pull, verify, and stage orders by part number and bin location (no RF scanners used)
- Assist customers at the will call counter, including locating items and loading orders into customer vehicles
- Receive inbound material, verify shipments, and place items into correct warehouse locations
- Prepare and process outbound UPS and LTL shipments
- Operate an order picker at heights up to 20 feet
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment
- Support general warehouse functions including stocking, inventory accuracy, and material handling
- Occasionally operate a forklift (experience preferred but not required)
- Forklift or order picker experience
- Experience in receiving, stocking, and inventory management
- Product knowledge or the ability to learn products quickly
- Background in warehouse environments that combine order pulling, customer interaction, and stocking
- A retail curbside order picker who manually pulls and stages orders
- A floor associate who assists customers with locating items
- A stocker who receives and places materials in the correct locations
Manual order picking is the primary function of this role
