Collect, deliver, load, unload, and sort donated/retail rescue (food) items from various locations (retail stores, businesses, churches, etc.) throughout the surrounding area. Assists with shipping, receiving, distribution, inventory control, building and vehicle maintenance, and proper food handling. Provide necessary support for RRVP to execute its stated mission of providing nutritious food to those in urgent need.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Full-time position; five days a week, 8:00am-4:30pm M, T, W, F and 6:30am-3:00pm Th.
- Drives truck for daily food rescue and food drive collection and deliveries.
- Communicates and maintains positive relationships with donors, retail employees, clients and volunteers.
- Assists with the direct workflow between all warehouse areas, including shipping and receiving.
- Completes all required reporting paperwork for collected donations.
- Assists with maintenance projects around the facilities.
- Assists with maintaining a clean, functional warehouse and vehicle. Inspecting of physical conditions of warehouse and equipment; and maintenance of vehicle. Assist with daily cleaning duties. Reporting any issues or concerns immediately to the Warehouse Manager.
- Works with warehouse equipment, with a strong safety focus, including but not limited to pallet jack, forklift, ladder, tools, truck, and cleaning supplies.
- Adheres and enforces policies and procedures of the pantry.
- Participates in personal safety and protection activities for staff and volunteers.
- Creates and maintains a safe working environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Non-supervisory position.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh school education required. Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and ability to be insured is required. One to two years of warehouse experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to enter/exit, sit in, and drive a box truck. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.
