The Controls Technician is responsible for installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintaining, and supporting industrial automation and control systems at customer facilities. This role works closely with Controls Engineers during startup, testing, and ongoing support of PLC- and HMI-based automation systems across manufacturing and process industries.
Primary Responsibilities
- Install, wire, and troubleshoot industrial control panels and field devices.
- Perform PLC and HMI commissioning under the direction of Controls Engineers.
- Assist with startup and commissioning of automated equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical and controls issues using electrical drawings and schematics.
- Configure and calibrate instrumentation
- Perform preventive maintenance and service on industrial automation systems.
- Modify PLC logic and HMI screens when required.
- Travel to customer sites as needed for installations, commissioning, troubleshooting, and service work.
