Human Services Enforcement Assistant – Division of Support Enforcement & Recovery (DSER), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS)
Location:
Rockland (Anticipated vacancy) | Grade: 17, Job Class Code: 5038 | Salary: $19.27 – $27.74 per hour | Full-time, Monday–Friday 8‑5 | Partial telework possible with management approval.
- Process administrative documents and assist with legal documents such as wage attachments, license revocations, passport denials, and motor vehicle lien releases.
- Communicate with parents, answer questions, and provide information about the child support program.
- Manage and prioritize correspondence/contacts, including electronic and hard mail, addressing time‑sensitive mail promptly.
- Provide telephone customer service.
- Build cases and manage contact with individuals applying for child support services.
- Document imaging and indexing.
- Schedule genetic testing.
- Assist with general office duties.
- Foundational education, training, or experience in office/administrative support or a related area that demonstrates competency in applying office support processes, procedures, and practices.
- Proficiency with Outlook, Excel, MS Word, and comparable word‑processing/spreadsheet applications.
- Strong data‑entry skills for inputting data and narratives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, keyboarding, and telephone skills.
- Customer‑service orientation.
- Team‑work ability.
Applicants must satisfy pre‑employment screening, including verification of minimum qualifications, application information, employment history, references, and a fingerprint‑based criminal‑history record check. Conditional offers are contingent upon successful completion of the screening.
