Engineering Designer – Electrical

Provide technical and functional support to the Vehicle Integrations team relating to vehicle installed and NPD harnessing while adhering to safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics.

How you'll make a difference
  • Assist in the design, testing, and performance validation of electrical harness / system prototypes, which includes internal lab testing as well as external field testing.
  • Produce detailed harness and mechanical drawings on CAD following company standards with minimal guidance.
  • Participate on cross‑functional teams to ensure continuous, ongoing improvement of vehicle installed electrical component function and quality.
  • Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical drawings, schematics, technical bulletins, and government regulations.
  • Assist in creating product literature including vehicle and NPD electrical installation instructions.
  • Support all 5S and other Lean activities.
  • Complete other reasonably related duties as assigned.
  • What this role needs

    Education and/or

    Experience:

    Familiarity with 12V DC electrical systems and common electrical components. Experience working on vehicle electrical systems and general vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting. 2D CAD skills are desirable but on‑job training is available.

    Language

    Skills:

    Able to read and interpret drawings, schematics, electrical and mechanical blueprints, technical bulletins and procedures, or government regulations. Able to write operations and procedure manuals, and to effectively communicate with other employees of the organization.

    Mathematical

    Skills:

    Able to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

    Other Skills and Responsibilities: Knowledge of and able to apply computers and related software, such as spreadsheet, word processing, CAD (Draft Sight or AutoCAD), etc., to the solution of engineering problems.
