CNC Machinist Opportunity
Are you a skilled CNC Machinist with a strong attention to detail? Do you take pride in producing high-quality parts and keeping your workspace safe and organized? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you! Our client, Douglas Dynamics/Fisher Engineering, is currently seeking a CNC Machinist to join their growing team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting welding and fabrication operations while contributing to a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:Operate manual and CNC machine tools to produce precision tooling components. Program, set up, and adjust CNC milling and turning machines for optimal performance. Fabricate and maintain tooling and fixtures according to engineering designs and plant needs. Monitor machining cycle times to estimate job completion and manage daily workload. Maintain and organize CNC programs and historical data within a network database.
Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting machining equipment as needed. Ensure quality standards are met and take ownership of finished machined parts. Maintain safe work conditions and adhere to 5S and housekeeping standards. Support urgent production needs and collaborate with team members across departments. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and assist with training and knowledge sharing. Communicate machining or maintenance issues promptly and effectively.
Technical school certification in Machining preferred. 1–3 years of CNC machining experience preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Strong understanding of machining processes, speeds, feeds, and cycle times. Proficiency with basic computer systems and Microsoft Office; ability to access databases. Solid math skills, including algebra, trigonometry, and metric conversions. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods; frequent bending, reaching, and twisting required.
Schedule:
