Role Description

The Commercial Construction Estimator – General Contractor is a full-time, on-site role based in Rockland, MA. This role is responsible for preparing detailed and accurate estimates for commercial construction projects, including reviewing drawings and specifications, performing quantity take-offs, and developing project budgets. Day-to-day tasks include soliciting and analyzing subcontractor and vendor pricing, assessing scope gaps and constructability, and preparing clear proposal documents for clients and internal stakeholders.

The estimator collaborates with the CBI team to align estimates with project schedules, means and methods, and client expectations.

Qualifications
  • Strong construction estimating skills with experience in commercial projects and general contracting.
  • Proficiency in quantity take-offs and the use of estimating software or digital tools.
  • Experience with cost management and project budgeting, including analyzing bids and tracking historical costs.
  • Effective communication skills for working with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Knowledge of commercial construction means and methods, building codes, and industry standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills with attention to detail.
  • Relevant education such as a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience in the New England commercial construction market and familiarity with local subcontractor networks is beneficial.
