The Senior Mechanical Engineer will work on-site in Rockland, MA in a full-time capacity, supporting the design and development of building systems and related mechanical solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing mechanical load calculations, designing HVAC and plumbing systems, and preparing detailed technical drawings and specifications for drafting by junior staff using AutoCAD. The role involves coordinating with architects, other engineers, and construction teams to integrate mechanical designs into overall project plans, while addressing code compliance, safety standards, and energy efficiency.
The Mechanical Engineer will review shop drawings, assist with site visits, participate in construction administration activities, and contribute to research and development efforts aimed at improving system performance and project outcomes. This position requires clear documentation, collaboration across disciplines, and consistent attention to quality and deadlines.
- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering, with experience applying engineering principles to building systems.
- Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for creating detailed mechanical drawings, models, and technical documentation.
- Demonstrated Project Management skills, including planning, scheduling, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and tracking project progress.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field; professional licensure (EIT/PE) is required.
- Working knowledge of building codes, industry standards, and best practices related to HVAC and plumbing systems.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and document technical work clearly.
- Ability to work on-site, manage multiple priorities, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced project environment.
