Manufacturing Business Development Specialist

The Manufacturing Business Development Specialist is responsible for leading the growth of BAC's manufacturing business by identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities for contract manufacturing services and commodity products. This position is responsible for generating new revenue, expanding strategic customer relationships and positioning BAC as a preferred manufacturing partner across commercial, aerospace, defense, and government markets.
The position works collaboratively with internal teams to ensure successful customer solutions while ensuring compliance with applicable ISO 9001 and AS9100 Quality Management System requirements.
Essential Functions:

- Serve as the primary contact for prospective customers, providing exceptional customer service and responding to inquiries regarding BAC's manufacturing capabilities and commodity products.
- Develop and implement strategies to identify, qualify, and secure new customers for manufacturing services and commodity products that align with the strategic goals of the Manufacturing & Logistics Department.
- Generate and qualify sales opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, cold calling, trade shows, customer visits, and other business development activities.
- Prepare and present proposals, quotations, capability presentations, and other sales materials tailored to customer requirements using approved pricing and contract terms.
- Follow up on quotations, proposals, and sales opportunities to address customer questions, negotiate within approved parameters, and maximize contract awards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing customers to secure new business, encourage repeat orders, and support long-term account growth.
- Develop, manage, and maintain ownership of new customer relationships from initial prospecting through contract award and account development.
- Meet or exceed established sales activity, new customer acquisition, revenue, and other performance goals established by the Director of Manufacturing & Logistics.
- Conduct market research to identify industry trends, emerging markets, competitor activities, and prospective customers that support business growth.
- Identify and monitor government contracting opportunities, Requests for Quotations (RFQs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and other bid opportunities that align with BAC's manufacturing capabilities and commodity offerings.
- Provide ongoing support to prospective customers throughout the sales process and to existing customers after product delivery. Address issues or concerns promptly and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, quotations, forecasts, and business opportunities using approved tracking systems.
- Collaborate with the Director of Manufacturing & Logistics to develop customer quotations, pricing strategies, and contract proposals that support organizational objectives and profitability.
- Assist with gathering information necessary to support estimating, time studies, and quotation development when requested.
- Prepare reports and other documentation related to sales activities, customer accounts, quotations, and contract opportunities.
- Maintain a working knowledge of BAC's manufacturing capabilities, quality certifications, commodity products, and value-added services to effectively represent the organization.
- Represent BAC at customer meetings, trade shows, industry events, supplier expos, and networking opportunities to promote the organization's capabilities and generate new business.
- Coordinate customer visits, facility tours, and capability demonstrations to promote BAC's manufacturing capabilities and strengthen customer relationships.
- Maintain compliance with applicable ISO 9001, AS9100, departmental policies, and customer requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
- Three (3) years of business development, outside sales, account management, manufacturing, logistics, or a combination of related experience.
- An equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience may suffice for the above requirements.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and able to learn department-specific software applications.
- Must satisfy Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) Level 2 background screening requirements.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
