INDUSTRY CLASSIFICATION: MARINE CONSTRUCTION

TITLE: TRADESMAN - MARINE CONSTRUCTION

LOCATION: ROCKLEDGE, FL (OPERATING AREA: BREVARD, VOLUSIA, INDIAN RIVER, AND POLK COUNTIES)

FUNCTION: CONSTRUCTION

CLASSIFICATION: FULL TIME – NON-EXEMPT – HOURLY

REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF CONSTRUCTION

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Ensure proper setup, operation, take-down, cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of materials, equipment, and machinery.
  • Assist in loading/unloading of materials, equipment, and supplies to and from trucks, jobsites, and barges, ensuring proper stowage and securing of cargo to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
  • If operating on a barge, assist in proper mooring/anchoring of vessels, handling lines, chains, and anchors in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Perform tasks aligned to projects: demolition, construction, and/or installation of seawalls, docks, piles, and boat lifts: digging, shoveling, leveling, lifting, carrying, carpentry, framing, rigging, positioning structural components, and working with a wide variety of tools and equipment.
  • Ensure construction equipment and tools are clean, organized, and stored in an orderly fashion after each use. Dispose of rubble, debris, trash, and hazardous, worn, damaged, outdated, or other waste materials from work areas and maintain a baseline organization and site cleanliness.
  • Assist with routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, painting, and lubricating equipment & machinery. Identify and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel for resolution.
  • Requirements

    ESSENTIAL JOB, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current, valid driver’s license.
  • Conversational in English.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
  • Ability to work a full shift in extreme heat.
  • Ability to swim.
  • Ability to pass a controlled substance screening.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & CERTIFICATIONS

  • Experience in marine construction.
  • Possess a working knowledge of engineering drawings, sketches, and blueprints.
  • OSHA 10 Certified.
  • CPR & First Aid Certified.
  • Class A CDL license.
